I just rented a movie and it’s burned, not pressed. It’s a foreign film, a Sony Pictures Classics release. “This disc is expected to play” in DVD players. The warnings have changed. It used to be a lot more explicit—don’t put it in a computer. Not sure why. Maybe they don’t have all the copy protection on. But it’s interesting to see MOD become cost effective for more and more releases. I wonder if you can buy anything MOD at a Target. I just find it all interesting because I thought MOD was the way for it all to go and then Warner Archive came along and basically created this entire subformat as a used technology. Not to ramble.
