Unconstrained blathering. It’s an interesting process to consider, just in terms of writing, because there’s a readership. So it’s self-centered—oh, wow, Maugham would’ve been an amazing blogger. Anyway. There’s an assumed readership, whatever the amount, whatever the time period of reading after writing. It’s kind of passive, because there’s a certain amount of ephemera built-in. There’s a misconception the Internet needs to be about news. Wow. What a depressing statement. But going with old time blogging, especially late night old time blogging, is like being in a time bubble to 2004. Except it’s not even ten o’clock because I’m now old. I blame it on the long commute.
