I’m reading Cakes and Ale for Maugham this month. It’s another short one, but I’ve got some other reading decisions to be making—like if I want to merge work and personal reading, which may or may not be possible. Even though Liza of Lambeth left me wanting last month, for whatever reason, I doubt I’m going to want to be too deep into a book this month either. I don’t even know when Cakes and Ale is from. 1930. Google. How nice. But 1930 is pre-Summing Up, pre-Narrow Corner. It’s from when he was popular. Should be interesting. Hopefully.
