Movie buddies

Movie buddies. Not in the sense Lethal Weapon is a buddy action movie, but in the sense of having a shared enthusiasm for a movie with someone else. Then having shared enthusiasm for multiple films with someone else. Usually you have movie buddies when you’re a kid, at least in my experience. I know lots of folks on Twitter have found a way of creating a similar feeling. I think I participated in a Thin Man live tweet. I did. It was a lot of fun. I hadn’t watched The Thin Man with someone else in years. Shared enthusiasm for movies though, there’s something special about it, just because there are so many ways to watch movies. Well, I still say you see a movie in the theater and you watch it at home (you can control the viewing, under normal circumstances, at home, hence watching). I miss showing people movies. It’s never been serious goal of my film blogging and I wouldn’t know where to start. But having a movie buddy is a really great thing. It shouldn’t be underestimated or undervalued.
