Would you believe salads weren’t always a thing? Once people tossing salad with two wooden spoons transitioned from film to television, that point is still a little early for getting salads onto the dining room tables across the United States. I wonder if there was a salad lobby in the eighties who somehow advertised the heck out of the idea of the nightly salad. Nightly veggies are microwaved, or at least they were until salads caught on. So maybe it was a food pyramid thing. I never consider the eighties as much of a momentous decade but I suppose it was when people moved from the Sears catalog to the mall.
