This movie is truly a masterpiece. It is a reminder of old Hollywood. This is one of my favorite movies. I wish I could watch this movie over and over. Every scene is elegant and beautiful. I love it!!!!
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('7156','Article-O-Pedia','This movie is truly a masterpiece.
Doesn't Bogart's character continually betray who he is supposed to be at the beginning of the film? He constantly breaks his own codified rules of behavior thanks to Isla. He not only takes sides in the power struggle between the resistance and the Nazis, he even drinks with customers in his cafe. Rick's inconstancy is part of the film's charm--what really matters is that the American audience gets flattered because Rick is ultimately such a good man, and that otherwise all of the characters get playfully good lines, especially Claude Rains. Casablanca is very much a sentimental film, but it covers that up with wit and excellent performances.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('1611','filmdr','Doesn\'t Bogart\'s character continually betray who he is supposed to be at the beginning of the film?
This is one movie that one can't really help but fall in love with. Rick - thats one hell of a character - cynic on the outside but a softie within. And Ilsa - a kind of woman who is born to break hearts (including her own). Truly, Casablanca was a cinematic achievement with few peers.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('1594','Shubhajit','This is one movie that one can\'t really help but fall in love with.
