It's supposed to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane, like something my mother might daydream about while listening to the radio. Also, American films of the seventies were not known for loud, theatrical acting. The movie is funny, poignant, and above all, nostalgic. Unfortunately, the movie, i feel, hasn't aged very well - it is too 70ish, especially the acting which is too theatrical and loud. The goofy elements, too, seem too forced, and the plot relies heavily on coincidents and absurdism.
